Bio-Bifido BacT (BR) powder provides only Bifidobacterium bifidum with no lactic acid-forming bacteria. This is deliberate to ensure that this probiotic supplement will not raise lavels of lactate which can affect some sensitive people.

Bifidobacteria are Gram-positive microorganisms considered the dominant species of bacteria within the human gut and for this reason key members of the human gut microbiota. The level of abundance of bifidobacteria within the human gut decreases with age.

Bifidobacteria strains induce an immune response affecting Treg/TH17 plasticity and B. bifidum also possess the ability to induce IL-2 secretion by dendritic cells both of which suggest that these commensal bacteria have a key role in mucosal tolerance.

Bifidobacteria can adhere to epithelial cells in the colon, aggregate with other bacteria, help induce the innate immune response and support protectivre mucin activity.

Serving Instructions

One to three servings each day as a dietary supplement or as otherwise directed by a healthcare professional. Refrigerate after opening to preserve activity.
